Meet Lizzie, Art Tutor and Founder of ARC

“I love encouraging people in their creativity and I believe that everyone, given the space and encouragement, can produce a personal and integral piece of artwork they can be proud of.

The foundational technical skills applied to drawing and painting are vital and each class I teach focuses on developing these but I also believe in generating freedom rather than perfection.

My studios are surrounded by nature and create a calming and safe environment where people are inspired to ‘have a go’, drawing inspiration from the work of leading contemporary and historical artists. I love seeing my students discover new depths of creativity and the moment of surprise and pleasure when they start believing that they can do it”

Lizzie is an experienced teacher in Fine Art, Art & Design and Creative Textiles. As well as holding qualified teaching status and a BA Hons degree in Fine Art from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, she is a practising artist (you can view her work; click button below) and has exhibited work in galleries across the UK including Birmingham's own RBSA
