LINE & WASH WORKSHOP: Saturday, 22nd March,2025
Line and wash is a drawing and painting process in which defined lines are used in unison with washes of colour. You will be shown different ways to apply pen and Indian ink, learn how to stretch hot or cold pressed paper and discover the ancient craft of using a dip stick.
This one day workshop runs from 10.30am - 4pm and includes and two course lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

This one day workshop runs from 10.30am - 4pm and includes and two course lunch and refreshments throughout the day.You will be shown how to ‘paint’ botanical images with polychromos pencils that blend the coloured pigments together to create a painted look.

This one day workshop runs from 10.30am - 4pm and includes and two course lunch and refreshments throughout the day. All materials provided in this creative and enjoyable course using simple printmaking techniques.
‘CELEBRATE YOUR SKETCHBOOK’ 15th February 2025
There is nothing worse than looking at the first blank page in your new sketchbook and feel ‘artist cramp’ coming on. This day workshop will show you in simple, adventurous and fun ways to create a great resource for your artworks. You will also be given a complimentary sketchbook.
This one day workshop runs from 10.30am - 4pm and includes a two course lunch.
The Line and Wash workshop was a real treat, with carefully planned tasks that helped me build up new skills and confidence. Lizzie created a warm and encouraging atmosphere, and her encouragement set me free to experiment and explore creative possibilities. Have already recommended to others!

Meet Lizzie, Art Tutor and Founder of ARC
“I love encouraging people in their creativity and I believe that everyone, given the space and encouragement, can produce a personal and integral piece of artwork they can be proud of.
The foundational technical skills applied to drawing and painting are vital and each class I teach focuses on developing these but I also believe in generating freedom rather than perfection.
My studios are surrounded by nature and create a calming and safe environment where people are inspired to ‘have a go’, drawing inspiration from the work of leading contemporary and historical artists. I love seeing my students discover new depths of creativity and the moment of surprise and pleasure when they start believing that they can do it”
Lizzie is an experienced teacher in Fine Art, Art & Design and Creative Textiles. As well as holding qualified teaching status and a BA Hons degree in Fine Art from the Surrey Institute of Art and Design, she is a practising artist (you can view and purchase prints of her work here) and has exhibited work in galleries across the UK including Birmingham's own RBSA
